I vaguely remember seeing an answer for this one, but just in case:
make sure authentication is set to on for the admin site host record.
If you set it to off, you'll have to re-enable it by hand. If you tell
me what the id of the host record is (you'll see it in the URL when
you're viewing the host record), I'll tell you what to enter on the
command line.
