Update on this - It appears that recompiling the ldap module did not help..
The final solution for us was
On our RPM build machine we downgraded mysql by 1 point version, (from
sourceforge), then build the packages.
Installed it on a machine with the standard mysql packages
and every thing worked happily
- Note that the first release of Nadmin Studio 1.4 (was Nadmin M4), will
include full RPMS for a clean redhat 7.1 system - taking it from no midgard to
a fully working (random passworded) staging/live + email etc.......
