Hi all, after many hours bug fixing.. out it comes
- this we hope is a major improvement over M3a and adds a number of features
along with fixing most of the major bugs (and probably adding a few)

Release Notes for Nadmin Studio 1.4 (RC1)
Linux Center (HK) Ltd. - www.hklc.com is proud to announce the availability
of Nadmin Studio 1.4 - the Administration interface
(Content Managememnt System) to the Midgard Application Server
(www.midgard-project.org).
With this release we focused on fine tuning of the use interface,
additional
language support, tighter database integration and
additional modules like member management, schedule.
Feature Highlights
Key to this release are:
Nadmin Renamed: - Nadmin 1.0 M4 becomes "Nadmin Studio 1.4"
Schedule:
A personal /group organizer is now included - making full use of
midgard events.
Integrated with the Groups mechanism - a full featured organizer is
now
the first tab appearing on a users login.
Installer:
(RPMs) take you from No midgard to full replicated login and
DNS+email.
First versions available for Redhat 7.1

Tools and Translator - Hidden by default.
Translation Strings are not stored in Snippets any more, rather they
are stored in the database - this means that you
will not be able to edit existing tranlations, however new languages
are possible - or it could be used to translate your
own application (eg. style templates with _eng extension..
Please use mingdemo.hklc.com:8001/translator for adding translation
strings to new distributions (or email us your
database dump for md5translator.)
Multiple Page Approval
For Page Approvers a list of Pages requiring approval is displayed on
the welcome page, this now has checkboxes
enabling the approval of a number of pages in 'one go'.
Company Specific Login Pages.
If a 'non System admin(SG0)' host is set up with it's root page as
Nadmin Studio, the login page will only show the
company name - no other companies.
News & Articles
Reply articles may be created, viewed and edited.
The Extra Fields for Categories my now be modified.
Icons for Locking and Approval shown in Topic and Article tree
Topic and Articles now allow changing of Details and content prior to
submit.
Module Group Access Control.
The Group Tab now allows the turning on/off the visiblity of all
modules.
Group & People Tree:
All people is displayed per company for the system administrator
The Group display is now Tree like in nature - demonstrating the
heirachy of Group ownership
Website Templates:
When Creating a new host/website, the option is available to create
the
Website based on a 'Website template' - this
copies the whole site + style into the company, enabling the quick
realization of a fully functioning Website.
Demostration Site included in distribution as a template - this
includes examples of most of the features available * you
will need to configure the database
Navigation Snippet Documented and available - Code to build menus
from
page tree's is included, documentation in the
manual and example in the Demostration site.
Database Creation for Companies
Additional Boxes on the Company page enable the creation of a company
database for use with all the 'MySQL' based
modules - eg. Nforum, PhpAds. etc.
Replication:
Replication now only replicates approved articles *thanks to bergie
Replication script available to transfer to other servers *thanks

Minor Bug Fixes
Revision Control Bug fixes - Occasionally Data would not be written
to
RCS files..
Tree only Refreshed when changing Name of pages or creating New
pages.
All Javascript should now be Mozilla compatible (no guaretees given
on
Mozilla stability though)
News & Article ownership fixed.
Company Deletion now really deletes the whole company.
Root pages with same name are not allowed
Word Cut and paste partially fixed by replacing <?:xml ...... />with
Commented out code
Preview Changes
PHP code in pages and styles is previed in code view.
Preview will now redirect to the staging site page after update and
message. - Enabling more 'real life previews', along
with faster code testing ability.
Website Tree:
Root pages can be browsed using the Root/Website on the Website tab.
Images:
PNG image support in Attachments browse and Editing windows.
Force Download option in Image upload - This changes the documents'
type and adds a * at the end of the name -
forcing the document to be downloaded rather than viewed in line for
most browsers.
Language Support:
Language Templates are distributed as seperate xmlgz files.
French Translation thanks to Olivier Courtois
Finish Translation thanks to nemein (www.nemein.com)
German Translation thanks to CGX AG (www.cgx.ch)
Chinese (Big5 and GB) Translations
English as usual..
