What I did for RH71:

- Install mysql and expat from RPM (supplied with RH71)
- Fetch ApacheToolkit, select php405 and ssl
When asked to edit php config I did, changing '--with-wddx' into
'--disable-xml' since I didn't need the hassle of fightinh with PHP
over which expat to use. Let it install
- Fix the generated apxs, removing all references to the included php
(which is in the toolkit work directory)
- fix the extension_dir in php.ini
- make user php-config, apxs and glib-config are in your $PATH.
- Build lib, mod, php4 and data without incidents.
