4.0.3pl1 is not a problem perse, but the PHP build environment (which
is entirely out of our control) has changed with every release since
4.0.early. It's been, uhm, interesting work devising workarounds for
each new incompatibility.
1.4.1-7 works with 4.0.4pl1 and 4.0.5. I think. Current CVS should
work with 4.0.3pl1. I compiled against 4.0.3pl1 on a Debian box.
