As I'm experiencing roughly the same problem with Nathan I have a guess:
It looks to me that there may be two possible sources of this error:
1st it could be a problem in the URL handler. I don't think that this is
true because AFAIR changes there were minor and it has "always worked".
What seems to more probable to me is that the PHP4 preparser is unstable.
This is the latest stage where the error could occur, because you simply
don't get any output. Thinking about the changes the preparser went
through the last couple of weeks, it seems probable to me.
@Emiliano: Did you have a chance to look over my strace logs?
