We are having a weird problem. We are trying to port our Midgard 1.4-beta6
installation to the latest Midgard (because of PHP4).
The old installation is

    Apache/1.3.9 (Unix) Midgard/1.4-beta6 PHP/3.0.18+Midgard/1.4-beta6 mod_s
    sl/2.4.10 OpenSSL/0.9.5 rus/PL29.2

The new installation is

    Apache/1.3.9 (Unix) Midgard/1.4.1 PHP/4.0.4pl1 rus/PL29.2

Everything is on Intel/FreeBSD 4.3-RC

We successfully moved the site to 1.4.1. The original site had some
alterations of the Admin pages, so I attempted to alter the Admin pages on
the new site. Unfortunately, when I tried to modify the page
/admin/host/page/17.html, the page content was clipped. The clipping
occurred
on line 117. To reproduce it I added symbols one by one to the beginning of
the page content:

1 char added - no clipping
2 chars clipping occurs at line 117
                    "echo 'unknown'%3"
3 chars "echo 'unknown'%"
4 chars no clipping (everything is alright)
5 chars "echo 'unknown%2"
6 chars "echo 'unknown%"
7 chars no clipping (everything is alright)

Similar thing happened with code-global (/admin/host/page/element/34.html),
except I didn't even have to add anything to it, just press Modify and then
immediately Submit.

This is happening with stock Admin site. No Admin elements were modified in
any way prior to hitting this problem.

I did some exploring. I added code-compat element and printed out the
$content variable. The $content in code-compat was already clipped. I also
saved the HTML page and posted to the CGI script, which prints out the POST
contents. The POST was alright. Obviously, the clipping occurs in midgard
where it parses the URL-encoded POST variables. The clipping roughly occurs
on the 8000 character boundary of the URL-encoded POST.

Is this a known problem? Any suggestions how to address it? Could it be
related to this one
