I don't understand exactly what you mean. The pages have no owner, only
author, and they not belong to groups, are they? Please give an example!
I write below what is the situation now.
I have a group "Webpage editors" under according company's
administrators group, with one member called "editor". The "Webpage
editors" has only right to view websites.
The company's root page's author is "editor", yet I cannot modify it.
Hmm, I was playing around, and set the website's (=host) owner to the
"Webpage editors" group. Now it looks good...
Besides, I think I have detected a bug: before I have set the website's
owner to the proper group, I was able to modify the root page, but not
the sub-pages, as on the sub-pages the tabs (New, Preview, Edit etc.)
didn't appeared. Now I suppose that it is a bug that I was able to edit
the root page, is it?

nadmin, about 2-3 weeks old snapshot.

I still don't understand; you mean author? It was not enough when the
page's author was the person I wanted to modify with, but the website's
owner was not in the person's group.
