symptom: when connecting via IE to "http://gryphon.mycloe.com:8102/asgard";
 I get authenticated in the Midgard (SG0) domain and then, page not found
(404); Netscape 4.7 and Lynx have the same "requested page /asgard/ not
found" message. Same thing with all other midgard ports (8099 to 8102).
- it's a 1st time install; never worked.
- httpd logs - "file does not exist: /home/httpd/html/asgard/";
- mySQL logs show a client connection and no errors (all queries are
successful when tried by hand).

build details: install started on most components in Oct 2001.
- latest midgard 1.4.2 as of oct 11- installed from source tarballs,
exactly as per doc
        midgard-php ext compiled into php
- latest php 4.0.6 works fine; I had to clean up old php3 and reinstall
from source tarballs.
- Apache/1.3.9 (Unix)  (Red Hat/Linux) Midgard/1.4.2/SG mod_perl/1.21
PHP/4.0.6 configured
        apache config from RedHat 6.3 distro
- latest MySQL 3.23.43 - build from source tarballs

So it seems that most of the install/config is fine, since the URL
triggers SQL activity in the midgard db. Buteither midgard does not find
pages to return (db data missing?, files missing?), or, some other apache
VirtualHost issue prevents apache from seeing the output of the module
(module badly build/linked? libs missing/not accessible?), or, ... well I
hope your guess is better than mine! :-)
I read as much as I could in the listserv archives, and so checked various
tables, permissions, paths etc... but nothing helped so far.
Thanks for any pointers, suggestions, voodoo incantations.
