since mgd_include_snippet returns void , there is no way to test if
a snippet was included or not. I have a page that is not including any
snippet and I have to hint as to why.

mdg_include_snippet("/SiteFunctions/Display/echo");
?>
echo ( in /SiteFunctions/Display) contains:
<?php
echo "hello";
?>
