You don't need to make separate diffs for eac file, BTW.

The patches look OK except for the one against person.c. I don't like
the idea of anyone being able to create new users. Even the anonymous
user could create new users this way.

I'm not sure right now, but if a patch succeeds I don't think it creates
a .orig. Right?

That could be samba. Could well be that it was doing something funky
with extension guarding. On the dest host, from the command line, you
can do what you want of course.
