The functionality of repligard hasn't changed since 1.4, only fixed bugs that were found. Unfortunately Alexander has not been reachable for a few weeks now; he was best equipped to explain the details of repligard. Barring that, I'm sure active users of repligard will chip in. I'm not too experienced with repligard myself.
