The code that morphs eval into mgd_eval is now again available, albeit as a separate patch. I tried really hard, but lex doesn't support #ifdefine-esk mechanisms outside the code blocks, and inside the code blocks things just got too tricky for me, and costs performance even if you don't use it (because the lex matcher still has more state to juggle). So for now, it's a patch you have to apply by hand. This has only seen light testing. The patch is in lib/src/mgd_eval.patch.
