Let's start again:
One topic tree with 3000+ articles.
Any field can not be changed by any user.
All these articles are simply insterted and updated from
extarnal program and extarnal database.
All of them has attachments and content.
These articles are untouchable.

As a user I am interested in two of these articles , and want to
add them to basket , or add to my favourite topic.
How You see type field in this case?
for what?

solutions:

1. copy these two articles?
stupid, for 10000 user my database will grow up faster than "speed of light".

2. create articles linked to these two
how? article up is useless in this case

3. My new solution :)
I do not tell You, and I think it is the best
