Hi all,

for starters, thanks for all the cards and mails. I am just now able to
read some of the mail -- back home at last, although neither up nor
running, and I won't be for a little while, either.

I have been _extremely_ lucky, having only broken my leg (albeit in a
somewhat nasty way) and injured my lower back; I say lucky because it
could have very, very easily been much, much worse. Think 'narrow
escape'.

So much for the lamenting. I'm doing fine now, and the doctors say that
in about 3-6 months I should be as good as new. In the meantime I will
unfortunately be largely unavailable as I am not allowed to sit up for
any significant amount of time, and frankly, the time I am permitted to
do so I would currently rather use for bathing and pitstops, if you catch
my drift :) I'm typing this with the laptop balancing on my stomach,
which sucks for hacking and stuff. Tiring, too.

Some quick notes from perusing the archives (bastards had no 'net access
in the hospital...) MMP does still offer mgd_eval, but no longer as a
function but as a language construct, and UDFs still work. &(var.xf); is
modified to $(mgd_register_filter("f"))($var); mgd_register_filter is
defined in the mmp rootfile.

Phew. I know I'm missing a lot of issues that have been raised, I'm
sorry, but that's going to be the status quo for a while until I feel a
little better. Please, don't ask me to fix stuff right now, because I
will while I shouldn't be at this moment.

Emile.

P.S., since everyone I meet seems to assume the opposite: yes, I'll still be
skydiving. First thing I'll do when the doctor unleashes me, too.
