I don't know anything about UTF-8 other than that midgard doesn't seem to be able to convert from it on solaris. Solaris DOES have iconv, there's a whole /usr/lib/iconv directory with a lot of UTF-8 files in it, and a file /usr/lib/iconv/iso8859-11%UTF-8.so - whatever that means. Thanks for the reply though.
