If there is no any information in midgard manual , You have to wait till someone who knows midgard sources will help , or check (unfortunatelly) it manualy in midgard sources, as there were more changes to midgard databese fields types. As I only rememeber when I had big problems with db upgrade I deleted repligard table and than imported Asgard db with repligard after database_upgrade script. (maybe look at this also) But I am not sure if it really helps in Your case. Update from 1.2.5 or earlier may be nightmare in some cases, but if You only have old db backuped You must try.........
