I never installed midgard-lite on windows and I never used any admin interface (or example site) with midgard-lite so my knowledge is kind of limited but I think your installation is correct.
Images can be missing in two different ways.

1) For Asgard you need to setup the blob dir and point to it in the config file.

2) I think any other "standard" site still uses the old method. It points to an url which is not handled by midgard. So you just have to put the images into the right directory.

For the "Call to undefined function" errors: Many of the extended midgard functions (like calendaring) are not implemented yet. You can implement them in midgard_functions.php by yourself. I can give you some hints for it but I don't have the time to do much about midgard-lite right now.
