I'm still suffering from the login problem on one of our servers.
The installations are identical, but the behavior is different.

server1 works (smde-hl066.de.draeger.com), server2 does not
(sntde123.de.draeger.com), I cannot log in as system administrator.
The old midgard admin works not as expected on server2, I cannot modify any
content (no textbox).
register_globals is on, write access to /tmp, /var/midgard/<...> and cookie
dir is granted, fqdn are set at any place.

I'm just thinking that maybe the mgd_auth_midgard call fails for some reason (possibly the reason is related to the fact that you cannot modify content on server2), try turning on debugging both for midgard and mysql and see if there are any errors.

and just remembered something, make sure the mysql too can write to /tmp (this was problem on one server where mgd_list_members failed without midgard giving any sensible error messages [in mysql debug log there was a strange message, finally I managed decipher it to meaning practically that mysql could not write to temp dir]

I hope, someone can help, I'm desperately seeking for a solution, time runs
away!

If you can give me some testing accounts (contact off-list, one for midgard, one for debugging in the shell [may need sudo]) I can look into this in the evening or during the weekend.
