Jan 22nd 2003 -- The Midgard Lite developer team is happy to release Midgard Lite 0.8.1.

The main goal of this release is to provide an easily
installable package so everybody has the chance to look
into the world of midgard.
The core of Midgard Lite is more reliable than ever
before, and only few important Midgard functions are
missing

We are always happy to receive feedback of any kind, so we
can improve Midgard Lite and move towards a 1.0 release.

About Midgard Lite

Midgard Lite is an experimental version of the Midgard Content
Management Framework written in pure PHP (no compiling required).

It can be used in reasonably secure enviroments to display
Midgard-based sites, where using CGI or unmodified PHP Apache
servers is the only option. Examples of such environments include
hosted servers and Windows systems.

The code is release under GPL.

Requirements

Midgard Lite requires a running installation of the Apache web
server, PHP programming language and the MySQL database. These
are available for most Linux distributions, and are probably
already installed on your system.
Also your Apache has to include the mod_rewrite module (which is
usually the case) and you need PHP's register_globals setting
switched to on.

About Midgard

Midgard is a freely available framework for Content Management
Systems and other information management solutions. Midgard
provides developers with an easy-to-use framework built on the
common Apache, PHP and MySQL components.

Midgard-based solutions are active use by hundreds of
organizations worldwide. It can be used for managing content
on Web, Extranet and Intranet services from simple templating
solutions to complex business applications.
