Hi!
For those who have seen MidCOM [1] and do not only want to use it but
also write some own components, here is some little help.
Unfortunately there is still no "Tutorial" or "Developers Guide", but
there are some points to get started:
1. Read the Documentation [2]. Not only fly over it, but do read it.
So you get a clue what MidCOM is about and how it really works.
2. Get MidCOM running. This may be a first barrier, as there is little
documentation on how it's done. But I'm sure you get some support
e.g. on IRC, and soon there will be either a "MidCOM Install Howto"
or even a "MidCOM Installer" (just kidding).
3. Start building your favorite component by on the one hand knowing
how MidCOM works (see 1.), and on the other hand by stealing many
lines of code, interface classes and ideas from existing components.
To make this easier, I hacked together a "MidCOM Component Template"
[3] with some few annotations about what the Snippets are good for.
4. Have fun with it, don't despair of it and don't hesitate to ask
questions in case you get stuck.
Nico.
