Greetings! Reminder: Midgard Developer Meeting will be held on June 13th - 15th in Munich, Germany. Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] if you want to attend. Both Midgard core and PHP-level developers are welcome.
Now, regarding the recent developments I would suggest rethinking the developer meeting agenda. Midgard 1.x series is suddenly looking very promising. Consider the following pieces laying around, *almost* integrated and working: * Multilingual content (multilang by David) * Workflow and versioning (MidRepository by David) * Extendable object schema (MidCOM datamanager, Torben) * WebDAV support (Bergie) * Example site and components (MidCOM, by Torben and Bergie) * Windows version (Daniel Reichenbach) * NTLM single sign-on (Alexander) * Probably other stuff I'm missing Think of the possibility: If we now took the chance to integrate all that into one nice, tight, integrated CMS package. That would certainly make Midgard one of the strongest Open Source CMSs out there out-of-the-box. I would see this as a good step to start in the dev meeting. We can also discuss the path towards Midgard 2.0, but integrating all the existing stuff would provide huge immediate benefits to the whole current and potential user community. The different features and pieces laying out there are mostly working, but usually only implemented for some specific projects or implementations. Integrating them together would require some work, but I feel it would certainly be worth the effort. Otherwise some of those will end up as wasted, unused pieces of code. If we go with the original idea of odd minor numbers being dev releases and even being stable ones, we could start of putting this all together in semi-integrated way and pushing out 1.5.0 When it all installs and works nicely, and we have an admin interface that supports it all we can finally put the uber-CMS release 1.6.0 Comments? /Bergie -- Henri Bergius [EMAIL PROTECTED] Consultant Partner Tel: +358-20-198 6032 Nemein Oy http://www.nemein.com/ Nemein.Net -- Project tracking solution for consulting companies http://www.nemein.com/Nemein.Net/ Seybold-Gilbane Content Management Intensive, Amsterdam, Jun 11th Midgard Developer Meeting, Munich, Germany, Jun 13th - 15th GUADEC, Dublin, Ireland, Jun 16th - 18th --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
