Chris, I had about the same experience a couple of weeks ago on my XP Pro box. I've postponed dealing with it until I have some time to work it through. I have a feeling it has to do with path settings, and maybe also iirc there's a note somewhere in the install docs that mentions a file that gets copied to the pear folder, which is where I think I left off after getting the same apache page you did. I think there's a mention somewhere here about running or not running php compiled with MySQL suppport as well that may have some bearing, in a message from Henri B. last week - all clues to chase down between real work. I hope someone out there can help us out. If you want to commiserate keep me updated and I'll try to duplicate your efforts to see if I get the same results.
