In my case, SERVER_NAME in the name, cause it's deep URLs like www.my.com/private/midgard_managed_folder www.my.com/private/apache_auth_folder
Realm is the same.
The question could be "How to use a Midgard realm (= SG) in Apache (auth) files ? Must I add brackets before/after SG name for an Apache euth file ?
example :my SG is "foo' in Midgard, AuthName in .htaccess would be "foo" or "(foo)" ??"

if I had to guess, I would say that you are going to
http://site.com authenticating the server issues a 301, redirecting you to http://www.site.com/ which is a different security realm, and rerequests the auth
Perhaps ServerName was changed in the config?

But since I upgraded/converted (...) my base for Midgard 1.4SG, I must specify twice login/pass in private places.
Is "AuthName" must be correctly specified for the current sitegroup, or can I set something else ?
i.e : if my SG is named "linuxboy", is AuthName must be "linuxboy" ?.. or "(Linuxboy)" maybe ?
