Thank you for responding.

My servername was not set in httpd.conf, but it is now. Also, my hostname for the
8001 port asgard page in the database was still set to localhost. I modified that as
well. However, I still cannot access the page.

I visit http://midgard.rutgers.edu:8001/asgard/ and get the following:
****
Not Found
The requested URL /asgard/ was not found on this server.

Apache/1.3.27 Server at midgard.rutgers.edu Port 80
****

Should I see the /var/www/html contents upon loading the base of the website at
http://midgard.rutgers.edu:8001/ ? Or does that indicate a mis-configuration off the
bat?

I really appreciate the help on this.

Thanks,
-Peter

Hi Peter,

I am assuming that you installed everything needed (running apache 1.3?) and
that you only have a configuration problem.
This is maybe an apache config problem or a midgard host table
misconfiguration.

Look into your httpd.conf file (/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf) and see if you
find some midgard parameters or an include file to the midgard extra httpd
config parameters. Specially look at the servername parameter, because this
name is forwarded to midgard and by that name the site is looked up.

Start on the command line mysql and log into the midgard database and do a
select * from host; and look at the name field. This should be the servername
set in de apache conf. for all records.

Goodluck,

Edwin
I have installed a clean version of Redhat 9.0 with the RPMS suggested =
on the main site. My webserver is called http://midgard.rutgers.edu =
and when I try to access it I can only see the default apache webpage. =
This happens regardless of the port I connect to. I am using =
http://midgard.rutgers.edu:8001/asgard and it does not even ask to =
authenticate. It gives an error when connecting. What might be the =
cause of my Midgard installation not functioning in any way?

Here's what's installed and loaded:
The PHP modules are loaded.
The Apache modules are loaded.
The Apache configuration has been updated to include the =
midgard-data.conf

I would appreciate help on this. It has been somewhat frustrating. Am =
I missing something in the install instructions? I have tried =
installing this several times already but to no avail.

Thanks,
-Peter
