I am not sure what type of replicating you are trying to achieve but let me explain my way of doing. I have a staging site from which I only replicate the approved articles,styles and pages to the life site by means of repligard and the downgrade_unapproved script (I extended this script a lot, because it only downgrades pages and not everything else which you can approve) this also includes the record extensions (parameters), When the article is approved. If this is handy let me know and I will forward the scripts.
