Yeah, the caching engine requires the dba (with berkeley db3) extension.

Since not everybody has that I committed a new version of
midcom-template.xml to CVS last night where caching is disabled by
default.

Many other MidCOM packages were also updated (finally!), so if you're
interested in trying out, I suggest scrapping your existing MidCOM
host, getting new versions of the MidCOM packages from CVS and trying
again.

This time the defaults with many packages should be more sensible...
