It seems to be an Open Source services brokering system.
For example, if company X wants a new feature for Midgard, they can announce it on the site, other companies can also add money to the pile, and the project will then be bought from a Midgard consultant or company.
That's only a part of what we do. Customers can also create more complex Questions (the kind that could take several hours to research and answer), and Tasks.
What's unique about our site is that companies have to assign a EURO
value to these and pay money into an account we keep for the site in advance.
That's what the "Reduce the Risk" part refers to in the tour.
We also generate automatic PDF invoices and handle payment to the person or company answering the question or solving the task.
Another thing we do is when people register and fill out a profile is add them to the index for each technology they support. Here is the current index for Midgard.
http://www.opensourcexperts.com/Index/index_html/Midgard/index.html
We make every index available as an RSS/XML Feed so that sites like midgard-project.org can have a copy on their site and not have to build their own registration code.
Hope that helps -- if not ask!
Mark
