The package looks really nice. Is there any chance that service providers like myself may be able to purchase the ability to WebInOne-ify their Midgard servers? If not now, perhaps in the near future?
Yes. That's what we are planning to do.
I don't want to resell someone else's hosting; that's not why I run my own servers.
That sounds sensible. Probably "hosting resellers" is the wrong term for "people who use WebInOne with their own servers", but that's what we mean here.
I see no reason why you couldn't do both - resell hosting via your own servers, and sell the software to other Midgard providers.
I love Aegir, really, but there are times when it would be much quicker for me to use desktop software. I have a computer with a 1.8GHz CPU, and a cablemodem connection that is reasonably fast, but sometimes it would still be much more efficient for me to use software running on my desktop (fewer mouse clicks; it DOES make a difference).
Let us know when you are ready to offer the package to other hosting companies, and please consider me for any beta testing that might be needed.
