Actually the Nemein sites are not 100% identical but pretty close.
There are basically two ways to take: 1) Create separate sites (hosts) for your language sites and give them prefixes (/en, /sv, etc.).
2) Create one host for your site and create subpages for the language versions.
3) Create one host with MidCOM Template and create the site structure with topics. One root topic, which may be empty (used to redirect), and n number of language topics.
The first alternative is not very good way to go but you may want to consider it if you need lots of different hard coded services for the language sites.
The second one doesn't really work with MidCOM (well it does but it's painful to administer and develop). So if you're not running MidCOM then this may be your choice.
Personally I'd pick the third alternative.
One thing we did with Nemein.com is that the www.nemein.com actually checks users language preferences from the browser and redirects to proper language site (currently only Finnish and English). If the user has anything else than Finnish selected he/she will get English site.
If you have some specific questions about the implementation I'll be happy to answer them.
Cheers!

P.S. There's even better lang implementation at www.puv.fi which is also Midgard site (not MidCOM though).

Does anybody have a smart way to create identical websites in different languages?
