But then again the default styles > and configs are pretty good as is. > I have done that, and I have spent a good few hours playing with the site I made via the midcom template. What has me running is the fact that I can't see how the content is called and placed.
I can't seem to find where it just decided to make links for all the articles in midgard root topic and place them on the root page. The other part is the fact that my layout is complex. I will be using a lot of midgard article and topic functions in the style itself, and it seem very simple to do this. I can't see how to do something like grab the title and abstract from last two articles in topic B, and place them where I want them in my style. I find the VMUC very helpful for an example of how to use classic midgard in a limited, but running start way. With midcom I don't understand where to find more information about things like <(content-row)> This probally stems from my limited grasp of midgard. Could someone give me a rundown on the flow of midcom? I get it up until <(content)> then I don't know where everything goes. In midgard I thought this linked to the page of the uri but when I go there I get lost pretty quick in the midcom site. > > The problem is that I would also like to use some of the midcom > components, > > such as net.nemein.discussion how would I go about including this > snippet > > on my page? > > To use the component I think you need to install MidCOM... This is going to be a problem for me. I might be forced to learn midcom better.
