What I can say...
We do not support phpmyadmin. 
Besides , do not use phpmyadmin with midgard , unless you know 
everything about database structure, and records relations.

So I would suggest You upgrade to testing/sarge. Woody is quite old these days 
to use it with newest software and packages.  You may also try (what could be 
the best choice) compile mysql packages (server, client, libs) for your box.
