Hi:
I'm new to midgard and have been able to install the 1.5 version of midgard, aegir, and midcom on a redhat 9 server. I've been able to create a new company, groups, and people, but when I attempt to create a new website, I get:
Domain name is invalid
Aegir-1.0.1 used to require FQDN for the Web sites. So, just insert www.somecompany.com while creating the site and then change it to localhost later on.
If you click the Host record in Web sites after creation you should get the details of the Host record (containing stuff like domain name, prefix, port, style, etc.).
Now, if you are unable to change the domain name from the details view, you just have to do the change in MySQL: mysql> update host set name="localhost" where name="www.somecompany.com";
for localhost. I can create a new website for an arbitrary www.somecompany.name, but not localhost. I searched the list and web and found a single reference to adding a VirtualHost entry in the apache config file. I verified that I have a VirtualHost entry in midgard-data.conf. Is there something else that I'm missing?
midgard-data.conf file:
... Listen 8001 NameVirtualHost localhost:8001 <VirtualHost localhost:8001> MidgardEngine On ServerName localhost Port 8001 ...
Everything good in here, don't touch it! Just change the domain name for the host you created.
What I'm entering for the new website:
Name: localhost Prefix: Type: live only
Template: Midcom site template
Company: mytestco
Thanks for any help you can provide.
