I see now (when i read your mail once more:) that you have installed
apache 1.3 from source. That isnt really needed as apache 1.3 comes with
mdk 9.2 (advx is pretty neat in its default package). If you run
Mandrakes version you can switch between 1.3 and 2.0 with advxrun1.3 and
advxrun2.0 respectivly.

But in your case you need to check that /usr/local/lib is present in
/etc/ld.so.conf and you have run ldconfig to register new libs.
