What are eco and MarsEditor exactly ? If these tools are external to Midgard/Midcom, how to integrate them in Midgard ?

It is now possible to use MidCOM's de.linkm.newsticker component with external (desktop or mobile) weblog editors:

I've tested the system with ecto and MarsEdit, and would be very interested in hearing test reports with other tools.
