This affects Sarge too. We are going to make new relase today or tomorrow. If everything goes fine... If not, You should wait till next week for new 1.7 release. In meantime all you can do, is downgrade PHP. 4.3.10-2 is the last PHP without ZTS. Midgard php module seems to be not the only one affected by ZTS features.
