Describe "some point". What did you select from menu?

Yeah , I should fix this error message ages ago.
It means "I can not log in to midgard _virtual_ database".
Which means I can not login as sitegroup user.

admin/password is default in fresh database.
So when You are asked about Sitegroup user ( admin ) type admin/password.

midgard-data works with 4.0 and 4.1. I do not know which client library
was used for binary packages.

You should have two accounts in repligard.conf.
Mysql's user and sitegroup's one.

I think You have wrong SG0 data.
