Greetings!

Below is a rough translation of Protie's Midgard usage instructions for content producers. The plan is to tweak these next week, and then add them to the Midgard Wiki together with screenshots.

However, before that it would be great to get feedback.

Begin forwarded message:
Content producing for websites with MidGARD

Introduction

This is an operating instruction for content producers on MidGARD- publication system. The most of this instruction is also compatible with previous and upcoming versions, but absolute compatibility cannot be guaranteed. The screen captures used in this instruction give only the right directions, because every website has its own appearance, schema and also component
settings and styles.

The most important part of this instruction for content producers is, "focus on following the instructions offered
by the interface and read atleast the namefields before filling in".

Midgard-website and components

Midgard-websites are very strongly content stressed, which still does not mean that it cannot look good. Content stressed means here that the content guides the site appearance and behaviour.

1. Content producing on website

In the publication system websites consist of folders and articles. When folders and articles are created the website navigation menu is been created automatically by the system.

The target of this instruction is to give a comprehensive view on making and deleting folders and articles (sites) in MidGARD.

1.1 Logging to the system

On the website you find Login-link at where it has been placed. By clicking it with the mouse
the browser will move to the login page of the system.

2.1. Navigation in editing view

The navigation row tells you the position on the site, which folder you are in and what you are editing.

In picture one the user is at the Palvelut-folder, where new article (page)can be created.
like there has been created (Koulutus, Lähituki, Palvelut...)

In picture two has been moved to edit article “Koulutus” and you can see it clearly on the navigation row. Bold text has changed in the article “Koulutus” and that tells the location we are editing.

Inside the news folder can be lower folders containing static pages, which include only static pages (normal content pages).
