Title: weblogic-maven-plugin
Thanks Scott:

I am hitting a wall with cargo; it looks like cargo plugin only supports 'static deployment' and has not implemented remote deploy or local deployment for runtime Weblogic.

Development has this to say:
"There are actually 2 ways to deploy using Cargo (http://cargo.codehaus.org/Deployment):

-        using what we call static deployments, i.e. the deployable is deployed when the container starts (for the m2 plugin see http://cargo.codehaus.org/Starting+and+stopping+a+container)

-        using a deployer. Dpeloyers are used to deploy modules after the container is started. There are then 2 types of deployers: local and remote deployers (this is not described yet on the web site)

Right now we don’t have any Deployer implemented for WebLogic. We only support deploying deployables during WL container start up."

I really need a remote Weblogic deployment plugin and if you need any help with the 8.1 plugin; I will make myself avaialable via [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Cheers,

Christiaan

Yes the cargo plugin is the way to go if you need just the deployment support.  Once I get the plugin stable I plan on helping improve and support more Weblogic capability in cargo but for those that don't want to start off with Cargo the Weblogic plugin offers an easy first step to get going with M2.  The Weblogic plugin also offers capabilities beyond deployment such as appc and other functions.  I see a consolidation is the future between cargo, beehive and the Weblogic plugins so that the duplication of functionality is reduced but in the meantime my most important focus is to get as many Weblogic users as possible onto M2 so that the community can thrive.

Feel free to offer suggestions in any area and I apologize that I am running a little behind with the refactoring but this weekend I will have the 8.1 plugin pretty stable and ready to move out of snapshot and sandbox providing I can get enough votes.

I encourage you to provide input to the Cargo project as I think it is a great way to go and is probably where most of the deployment support work will be focused.

Best of luck.

Hi Scott:

Thank you for the quick response and action;  I am interested in Weblogic 8.1 - express deployment.

One work around I have found is cargo; this looks very promising. The m2 plugin supports not only DUM (deploy, undeploy and merge) deployment; it also supports application server installation.

The 2.9 version for 9.0 is in the snapshots.  I will be snapshoting the 8.1 plugin this weekend.  There will be more detail on the installation process posted on the site under the sandbox this weekend.  I had to do some refactoring on both plugins but hope to have testing done and pushed by Sunday evening.

Use the process defined in the URL posted on an earlier posting.   Please provide feedback so I can fix any bugs you find and I can release a real release soon.

What version are you most interested in?  8.1 or 9.0?

If you can't wait until this weekend the original plugin code is attached to http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MOJO-179

Hello:

I have searched ibiblio.org/maven2 for the (http://mojo.codehaus.org/weblogic-maven-plugin/) weblogic-maven-plugin to no avail.

Where can I find the jars?
