Not really a fix, but a workaround. If you set your hbm2ddl.auto to
"update", then Hibernate will update your schema w/o you having to
rely on this plugin to update your schema.
For example:
<property name="hibernateProperties">
<props>
<prop
key="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.PostgreSQLDialect</prop>
<prop key="hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto">update</prop>
</props>
</property>
