I also reported this bug on Maven Users list in the last month. Its
rather annoying given that 3 of the classes are actually being
compiled in my project, and the other 4 are javax classes available in
dependency artifacts.

Despite being annoying, it hasn't yet raised to the level of
importance that I've been able to schedule any time to look into it
with any detail, so thanks in advance to Garvin. ;-)
