hey, thanks for sharing Stephen, it's probably a hard work typin all this on
an ipod!

It's very interesting to be able to share that since it's choices I've made
on my own.

We use a corporate pom for our application and they arein fact part of the
same scm. I'm not sure by what you mean as 'can be released in one go'. We
don't release them a the same time.
When we release one, we have to produce a release version of the corporate
parent pom and all the dependencies the app depends on that are SNAPSHOT.

As I recently introduce the corporate pom, I very often modify it, so using
release version would increment it's version quickly. That seems doable
though, and it's a viable option I reckon. It's a pain for developers to
have to manually install the parent pom each time a new SNAPSHOT is deployed
(which not use in fact.) but it's even more painful to remember to update
the build server's version of the parent pom.

I'd argue that using versions:update-parent is not much different from doing
a 'svn up' & 'mvn install' on the parent pom though. It's still not
automatic.

I'm not too sure I understand what you mean by 'for integration development,
we check both projects out locally and install the. snapshots by doing a
local build'.
Do you mean locally check out both corporate pom and dependant application?
What snapshot?
