Which goal are you needing this option on? When I run gwt:run I do not
see gwt:compile run as a dependency.
I am using latest (or close) SNAPSHOT of:
<groupId>org.codehaus.mojo</groupId>
<artifactId>gwt-maven-plugin</artifactId>
<version>1.1-SNAPSHOT</version>
