We encountered this same problem with other plugins and applications. I do not know if it is fixable in the plugin...
However, as a suggestion, it would be better for you to change the developers local m2 repo. This is not the only plugin that has and could have issues with spaces in the folder names. As a general rule, to make it easier, all developer tools and the folders those tools use should not have spaces.
