we are still at a very early design / testing stage but I think the plan
would be to have something up and running before 2011. You can of course
make it happen sooner by contributing to its discussion / development /
testing / documentation. Nutch 2.0 is very likely to be based on
http://github.com/dogacan/nutchbase which is already working for most parts.

There is also a list of features for 2.0 on
http://wiki.apache.org/nutch/Nutch2Roadmap which everybody is welcome to
contribute to
