My mistake. Nutch 2.0 will work with UTF-8 with MySQL if you set up the
MySQL database properly. I have put together a little tutorial at
http://nlp.solutions.asia/?p=180 . Feel free to use it (link or copy) if
you think it will be useful to other people. I don't think there is
anything there that new users couldn't figure out easily enough but it
might save people new to Nutch using MySQL as the backend a bit of
time/frustration.
