Thanks Kiran I will check out both issue pointers below.

I would love to explore maybe an Apache Wicket [1] based UI, along with
CXF or Restlet web services for the GUI.

We already have Restlet thanks to Andrzej and I'm a big Wicket fan and
would love to help.

Let me know what you think -- it's way better than straight JSPs and maybe
will help you to focus on just the HTML or design or JS portion.
