Could you add at least one URL indexed but without digest?
Just to reproduce the problem on a "clean" system/configuration.

And yes, adding digest to indexchecker is trivial: it's just one line
to be added to IndexingFiltersChecker:

doc.add("digest",
     
parse.getData().getContentMeta().get(org.apache.nutch.metadata.Nutch.SIGNATURE_KEY));

Could you open a Jira issue to show the digest field in indexchecker?
