Yes. I feel strongly about getting one out there as soon as we have
stabilized the remaining issues

Nice.

We are discussing releasing a bunch of fixes for Gora 0.6.1 over right now
on Gora dev@

Lets see how this weekend pans out. If nothing happens I am going to push
for producing a release candidate. Gora is usually the key software
component which slows up released of Nutch 2.X. That is the truth. Some of
us are developing numerous modules over @Gora.

Well there are currently 10 issues for Nutch 2.3.1 and 3 set for Gora 0.6.1

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GORA-417?jql=project%20%3D%20GORA%20AND%20resolution%20%3D%20Unresolved%20AND%20fixVersion%20%3D%200.6.1%20ORDER%20BY%20priority%20DESC

If you feel that you can help out on any of these issues then please, it
would really help. I am very keen to get a Nutch 2.X release available for
Nutch 2.X users. I've been neglecting development of that branch recently
in favor of 1.X. Hopefully I can find time to put into 2.X and we can push
through with a release candidate once these issues have been tested and
resolved.
Thanks
