Nutch Solr Indexer over HTTPS

Hi,

My SolrCloud instance is configured to be accessed over HTTPS. I have 
searched for how to configure Nutch to index into SolrCloud, or even 
Solr,  over HTTPS with no success. Is it possible to use solr-indexer 
plugin using HTTPS?

If not can anyone guide me how to amend the plugin to enable indexing 
over HTTPS?
